Every hiker knows the saying: There is no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing. It is similar for a nature and wildlife photographer. Unfortunately, you can't buy a rain jacket for an (D)SLR/M camera including telephoto lens in the big shopping stores in your town. A remedy for this is various rain covers or ponchos from various manufacturers. If you have craftsmanship and can handle needle and thread or a sewing machine, the search for a suitable garment for our camera-lens combination is unnecessary.

With the help of a Fresnel foil with 3x magnification and some black cardboard, I quickly built a flash extender for photography, especially of birds. Also suitable for twilight. Thanks to the Fresnel lens, the light of the flash is amplified and can thus increase the power of the flash for greater distances.

One simple principle in wildlife photography is to photograph the animal at eye level. A "floating hide" is a mobile camouflage used in wildlife photography, especially when photographing waterfowl or animals in bodies of water. The floating hide allow photographers to photograph animals at close range while floating unobtrusively on water surfaces without disturbing them.
